Friends of Petersfield (FOPS)

Petersfield FOPS is a well-established partnership between parents, teachers and the local community that aims to strengthen the school community and raise funds. Money raised by FOPS is to fund the 'extras' that the school would not otherwise be able to provide. Decisions about what to fund are made each year by the FOPS committee with input and requests from parents and teachers alike.

FOPS events:
- Schools Discos - a chance for pupils to get together with their friends and have fun. We sell sweets and drinks, do face-painting, temporary tattoos and nails.
- Cake stalls - organised by the pupils and hosted by each class in turn. It is a great way for pupils and parents to get involved as they help sell the cakes to the rest of the school and other parents.
- Special events - Sports Day, Uniform Swop Shop, Dress Down Day, Gardeners Lunch, Run Owell
- Christmas Fayre - A chance for the local community to come together to celebrate an array of exciting festivities.

FOPS funding

- Support the cost of school trips, leavers hoodies and new starter bookbags
- Fund Mathletics - the ever popular maths software that is used in school and can be accessed from home
- Provide additional resources and equipment to our classrooms.
- Petersfield contribution to local arts schemes
- Dance, Arts and Music educational workshops

Your School Lottery
Your School Lottery creates and runs lotteries for Petersfield and across the UK. Our lotteries raise money through local communities to improve educational facilities within our school, whilst giving you an opportunity to win prizes.

Swop Shop - School Uniform
Second-hand uniform will be available for free at FOPS Swap Shop. This new initiative has the motto ‘give what you can, take what you need’ and aims to save parents money and time and also to reduce our carbon footprint. If every school child in the UK wore a second-hand uniform in September, we would save the equivalent annual energy use of over 20,000 homes or over 40,000 cars. Furthermore, a single t-shirt is estimated to take 2,700 litres of water to produce, equivalent to 3 years’ drinking water for an average adult. Look out for the friendly, pupil decorated, blue donations bin for donations. Please donate your unwanted uniform in the blue bin and visit the swap shop available regularly at events.
Join the discussion
FOPs committee meet half termly to plan and discuss the running of events and how money can best support the pupils and staff at Petersfield. If you would like to get involved in some way, send us suggestions or feedback, please email the committe: friendsofpetersfield@gmail.com.
We also invite you to celebrate and discuss the year's successes at the FOPS AGM held in the autumn term every school year.
