Thank you for visiting our school website.  We are very proud of our school here in Orwell, proud of our pupils, our strong partnerships and proud of all the people who work so hard for the Petersfield community.

We hope that you will find these pages informative and that we have also captured here something of our school's distinctive character.  Petersfield Church of England (Aided) Primary School is a small rural school serving children from within the parish boundaries of Orwell, Arrington, Croydon, Tadlow, Whaddon and Wimpole.   We are committed to providing a high quality education within a Christian context and we work hard to create a caring environment, supporting our pupils throughout this stage of their lifelong learning journey.

Petersfield pupils make good progress and our creative curriculum has been carefully designed to engage and motivate our children.  We are ambitious in terms of what we want them to achieve and as Petersfield approaches its 50th anniversary year, we are also ambitious in our plans for ensuring its continuing growth and success.

Petersfield has recently featured in the national press for its outstanding performance in the 2011 Key Stage 2 English and Maths tests.  We came 11th out of 240 schools in Cambridgeshire and if average points scores are used as the sole criteria, then our ranking leaps to second in the county.  Children and staff worked incredibly hard to achieve these fantastic results – a real credit to the school.

Petersfield School is a special place, a place where "everyone knows what good learning is".
